| The Mentawai Islands are a group of Islands of the West Coast of Sumatra, Indonesia.
Mentawai waves are the most consistent in the World having a 91% chance of scoring epic waves compared with Hawaii 76% and Australia 80%.
Mentawai has over 40 surf breaks and some secret ones !!!! with Island Telo 180 Nautical Miles North of the Mentawai’s has many waves for the conairsire surfer, then 40 miles north of Island Telo we have Nias, with Lagundi, Asu, and then Banyak Islands. |

MY Saranya is a steel hulled 18.05 meter offshore custom built vessel in 1999, for Surf chartering, Game Fishing Diving and Eco Trips. Saranya has traded in the Waters of Sumatra, Thailand and Myanmar (Burma) since 2000.
Special features include long Range 1000 nautical miles, twin Main engines, open plan accommodation all in Air condition environment License for: 12 day guest’s or 10 guests live aboard, however we prefer 8 guests for comfort, and indeed we do many charter's on an Exclusive basis for up to 6 pax's only.
In December 2007 to February 2008 MY Saranya had a major refit in Ratanachai Ship Yard in Phuket, Thailand and Marine Survey and was found to be constructed, engineered, and equipped in accordance With the Maritime & Coastguard Agency (MCA) “Yellow code of Practice for safety of small Commercial Motor Vessels and small Commercial Vessel code (SCV). |

Captain RONNIE BATE'E an Indonesian from Nias, has worked in the Mentawai's since 1996. He Captained boats Triton, Arimbi and Indo Jiwa and with MY Saranya for 3 years. Captain Ronnie has a full Master V for Commercial Passenger Vessel. He is qualified in all fields includng First Aid, Officer on Watch, certification in SOLAS V regulation's, Radar, ARPA, AIS, and Satilitte Navigation, with Captain Ronnie we have our on board mechanic Bambang.
Cook Nasrul who has worked on Charter vessel's for many years for all your western
and local cusine with at least 3 hearty meals per day plus snack's and 6 Cold Beers per day all inclusive in our package.
Deck Hand Arief will bring the cold beers to you on the break. All Saranya's crew have full International Certification for Safety at Sea even our Australian Pro Surf Guide Terry Breathe has safety and lifeguard certification. Terry will be in the surf with you amongst those awesome waves if you are novices Terry's the man.

The Mentawai Islands has some of the consisitant and best waves with more perfect left and right handers in one Region than anywhere else on the planet. This group of Islands attracts swell most of the year with the Most consistent season March to November.
Waves vary from 2 to 15 feet we have waves for surfers needs from Novice to Pro surf. Whether you are a natural or goofy. |

Through out the Island Chain of the Mentawais, its people are friendly smiling lot and still live a very traditional way of live. and you will see many of the locals fishing out of their dugouts. We can take you ashore at one of the many villages with the Mentawais and meet the local people.
